Could Network Marketing for older women help keep them out of poverty?

Recently I read an article in AARP stating that the stimulus checks were most welcomed by older woman because they were more likely than men to be living on no other source of income other than their social security. 

Even then woman's social security  is about a third of a man's.  The reason is that men tend to work longer and earn much more than women.  Pensions are greater for men and benefits are better. 

A woman's biggest reason for not earning money is mainly because of family.  Women are the main care givers of children and elderly family members.  Plus a woman will most likely out live a man by three or more year.  Therefore, women are more likely to fall into poverty and will face greater challenges in achieving financial security.

So, why not network marketing, could it be a secret to success? If done correctly and systematically, without spending allot of money, a women could begin to fill in the gap of financial freedom. 

I know that in this article I am mainly addressing women 65 or older but if women even in their 50's or later 40's begin to address their financial situation,  there would not be the need for the increased poverty.

Women cannot sit back and wait for the government to bail them out.  As with everything women need to take control of their on destinies.  Yes, women can hope that our government will begin to address social security but women cannot count on "prince charming" to come in and save the day.  

While our country is in a recession, building a business in a recession, and Network Marketing can be done at home while caring for family and loved ones.  A women can build and grow at their own pace without spending allot of money.  Just beware of the MLM's that require a substantial amount of money up front.  

Poverty is a horrible thing especially in this country.  There are so many ways to grow and network marketing is one way.
