Article Marketing in Your Business

How can Article Marketing affect your business and should you be doing this?

Article Marketing may be the most powerful tool in marketing today. That is because it is marketing you, giving you the opportunity to share your experiences with the world.

Definition of Article Marketing

Article marketing is a type of advertising in which businesses write short articles related to their respective industry. These articles are made available for distribution and publication in the marketplace. Each article contains a bio box and byline that include references and contact information for the author's business. Well-written content articles released for free distribution have the potential of increasing the authoring business' credibility within its market as well as attracting new clients. Wikipedia

Article Marketing is simply writing about a view, or an experience or a method of coaching, making Article Marketing the best way to get your stories out.

There are many sites on the internet that are free and allow a wide range of tools that gives you the freedom of expression.  You have probably been on a few such as: Squidoo, Ezine Articles, Hubpages.

Once you publish your article you become LIVE for all to see. People will be able to "link" in or just use your article and in doing so you gradually become ranked higher on the search engines.

When "linking" if you have enough articles written, say on a blog or website, you will also be helping these sites out as well and you will gradually create a web within the internet.

You will then be seen as an expert in your field and your potential partners will begin to trust you and want to follow you.

Knowing your Target Market for your Article

Now that you have an idea what Article Marketing  you now need a Target Market  or "niche" to write to.

You see you must know who it is you want to hear what you have to say.

So deciding on your target Market is essential in keeping focused therefore making your writing easier.

Many people will use a hobby or trade that they have been doing for a number of years.  I know that allot of people retiring are holding a wealth of information within them that should be shared.

If you feel that you do not have a target market think again. We all have something to say.  But, if you still are having trouble, do some research on an area of interest and do some studying up on the subject. Read all there is to read on an area of interest.

You will be amazed how quickly you become an expert on the subject.

Begin Slow and then Grow.  Get your word out there.....

Article Keywords

Keywords in your article are the words that are used to reveal the internal structure of an author's reasoning. While they are used primarily for rhetoric, they are also used in a strictly grammatical sense for structural composition, reasoning, and comprehension. Indeed, they are an essential part of any language.

Keywords are the Focal point of the conversation.

Keywords are what gets you noticed.

In order to get noticed search engines need something to grab onto.  These will be your keywords within your Target Market.

If you are writing on cooking you need to be specific about the type of cooking.  Say you like Italian cooking, well Italian cooking is very big, competition is huge,  so you may want to bring your target in more like "sauces in Italian cooking."  You then look up what type of sauces are being search for the most and you have a keyword to work with.  Don't stop there though.  You need a primary keyword and several secondary words as well.

So you need good keywords for your article...but shoot for middle of the road to begin with.

Where to find good Keywords?

There are several areas but one that is simple and easy to use and free is free keywords. It gives you a pretty good idea of where to start.

Another way is just a great search on the internet. Type in words that interest you and see what comes up. You will find allot of great ideas from this.

Once you decide on  good keywords your articles will begin to flow and you will be more focused.

Keeping your Article Value Based

When I talk about keeping an article value based I mean don't go selling your opportunity right away.

I had one person put it "You don't want to ask for marriage on the first date." Well, selling to quickly is sort of like that.

Get to know your potential partners as they get to know you through your articles. You will get to know them through the times that they search you out.

Give of your knowledge in your target area and if you can find free e-books to give to them, that again creates more value.

People are hungry for ideas, thoughts and most of all solutions.

So let's put this all together:

Let's say your article is on bird watching (this is always a good one)

Your Target Market is bird watchers.  Are they beginners or experts? You need to know..

Then you search the words that your Target Market is searching for. These become your keywords or the backbone of the conversation.

Then you tell them of your experiences, and views of birdwatching, where to go and when. Keep putting in keywords as you go, so that the search engines still know what your article is about.

Now you have an article of value... full of what they are looking for.

From this point on you will be able to gradually introduce other items that would be of interest to a bird watcher.  Things will begin to "snowball" from here.

Have fun
